The Sandrock Customs take on the Abyssinia Shotel; a weapon that excelled in that it could reach around shields to pierce its target

They turned out...well. I have mad respect for the Sandrock custom and it's crazy upper arm and pectorial engineering and stregenth.

Painting these came out with this totally unexpected damascusized look that i'm absolutely in love with.
Now, you may have noticed I dont sound all to enthused about the turn out of this, you'd be correct. I made three goofs in the construction...4.
1) source inspiration is sloped not layered. I forgot to slope the outermost layers like i wanted to, not to mention the rest of the layers.
2) very wide and heavy
3) Neglected the handle detail
&
4) Handle mechanism not functional

I'm already planning a version 2 that'll put these to shame. I'll prolly only build one though.

And hell yes I can rock it with a garden gnome!

Nice. I always loved this variety of weapon. And I've always loved Gundams so yeah... *Does a little dance.*

The ver.2 would be one with a functional reversable handle but it's not built as of current.
The short of how i built these is skill saw, layers of 1/2" thick plywood and the template I put here [link]

From experience, make only the blade 1/2 ply and the remaining layers a thinner ply or cardboard covered in in your choice of filler.

Rember, keeping a clean workshop is the surest way to prevent accidents like those depicted in the "Saw" movies from happening.
